I think this is the most beautiful english cover I have ever heard!
a parallel i noticed. amon and kanekis relationship is by far the most interesting relationship i’ve seen in any manga/anime
they’re both enemies and they’ve been told they need to slaughter each other to survive but they’re both actually trying to understand each other
Gotta admit it. Female version of Kaneki is also cool xD
Look at this majestic heartbreaker! He looks so carefree and happy!
Under the assumption that most people usually avoid the cause of their pain and despair, and considering the difficult times he had in Australia, I always thought that Rin wasn’t too keen to be associated and reminded of Australia again. But boy was I wrong!
I loved ep 12 and it really hit home for me. Literally. To see these boys in your hometown with all kinds of familiar scenery so beautifully animated is the most surreal but wonderful experience. But what I loved most, was Rin. He is by far the most gentle, sincere, open, caring and supportive in this episode, and he is all these wonderful things in a place that should remind him of his pain and failures. But instead, he’s come out even stronger, better and faster than all of that. He’s overcome his demons and he’s absolutely determined to succeed this time. We really get to see how far he’s come along. People can complain about his development and character all they want, but I am nothing but proud of this boy. My heart is overflowing with love for Rin.
Oh and hopeful baby Rinrin trying to speak english is gold, pure gold. It will brighten up the darkest of my days, I’m sure of it!
…so much as it was what Rin DIDN’T say.
Everyone tried to talk to Haru and push him into a decision (even Rin at one point), but this time, Rin let HARU make the choice, in a stress-free environment while Rin was there for him.
This was the FIRST TIME that Haru had the chance to make a completely independent decision and this HAS TO BE ACKNOWLEDGED.
It was probably in this moment that Haru was finally able to fully appreciate the words of not just Rin, but ALL OF HIS FRIENDS, and realize they didn’t say what they did to pressure him, but to encourage him. For the first time, Haru probably felt ENCOURAGED, and not pressured. This left him the space and peace of mind to decide that maybe professional swimming is not as scary as he thought it was.
Haru does not have everything figured out, his anxiety is not magically gone, he’s probably still really scared— JUST LIKE RIN WAS WHEN HE FIRST CAME TO AUSTRALIA TO PERSUE HIS DREAM— He was scared, but he was HOPEFUL.
Haru didn’t have hope for the future before. And now he does.
Furthermore, Rin did not fix Haru’s problem, Rin gave Haru the opportunity to fix his own problem.
What makes Haru happy is knowing that all of his friends have supported him and loved him. Haru now can finally see that they do!
JUST A REMINDER THAT THIS KID, this 18/19 years old literature student, just wanted a damn date with the girl he really liked, only to end up having to give up his life, getting tortured, turning and transforming into everything he hated, being forced to do horrible things, suffering unimaginable pain, losing everything he cared about, fighting oppression and depression, and being crushed from outside and inside.
He just wanted to go on a date. At a bookstore.
He just wanted a date.
